1.I moved to this journal after spending a few years under a previous name. I chose to do this because, of course, there is a ton of lj drama, and because I wanted a fresh start to a fresh life free of what I once was.
2.My name is Bria. I got married on June 7, 2008 to a wonderful man named James. We were together nearly three years prior to getting married, and are both devout Catholics. We joined the church April 7, 2007 after a few years of weighing it out. I graduated college with a BA in History from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2007, and James graduated with a BA in Arts and Performance from the same school in 2008.
3. Though we are both fairly young (at the time this was written in 2008 I was 22, he 23), we feel strongly that we have been called to raise a family, hopefully a large one, fairly soon. Our plans include natural childbirth, either at a center or at home, depending on the cicumstances, extended breastfeeding and child lead weaning, cosleeping, cloth diapering, baby wearing, nfp, and some aspects of attachment parenting. I also hope to educate my children at home. I am inclined towards these things not just because I feel that in doing them, I am better living out my role as a steward of the earth, but also because I feel that many of the practices I previously mentioned are simply better for the spiritual, mental, and physical development of my future children. James and I fully believe that becoming spouses to each other and parents to our children is a lifelong vocation, and not simply something that people just do. We take it all very seriously, and are not easily swayed. That being said, there are a few things James and I deviate from some of the standards practiced in attachment parenting and whatnot. I hope that whatever friends I gain on this won't be too upset.
4. Some other things I enjoy, besides subjects relating to baby are various crafts like pottery, crocheting, sewing, quilting, soap making.. the list goes for as long as I have time to learn new things. My latest skills are cooking and mending, but those are mostly because I have to. James needs to eat, apparently, and seems to tear up his clothes like no other. Oh yeah, and on my nerdy side, my DH and I play World of Warcraft a lot. Rivendare - Atemwende (ret pally). Check me out at http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Rivendare&n=Atemwende
5. I really, really love making friends through livejournal. I love to read other people's perspectives and experience, ask questions, and just generally be friendly. However, I am quite cautious about just adding anyone. Certain viewpoints, though I know I have no right to change them, are quite disturbing for me, and I sometimes have a difficult time separating the person from a particular stance. If you wish to be friends with me, I will have to take that into consideration. Mostly what I am looking for are young couples or women (though doesn't have to always be "young"), people who practice many of my same beliefs, catholics, more naturally minded people, and young families who use many of the techniques I listed above. Just comment to me. I don't usually make many posts friends only.
